Weeps Remember campaign finance reform?
Let's be serious- expecting politicians to reform campaign finance is like expecting the foxes to feed the hens dinner and tuck them into bed at night. And even if politicians wanted to change the system, stopping the flow of money with laws is a bit like trying to stop locusts with a picket fence.
I've seen enough of this subject lately to know that the only way to clean up politics is to take the money out of it. I think the internet promises to be a big step in that direction, a genuinely democratic forum that trades the currency of money for the currency of ideas. We'll see what happens.
