Whatever happened to crack? Did they get it all? No wait, I think everybody switched to .... what was it, ecstasy?
Family Values
What are family values? Nobody knows exactly, but every politician worth his or her retirement plan was for it back when it was the issue of the day.
Gun Control
Whatever happened to "gun control", anyway? Are all the guns under control now?
Communism
Remember back when the enemy was the "godless communists"? Now the problem is the enemy's got too much god.

Gangs
Whatever happened to gangs? I remember back when they were just about to engulf the entire nation in a perpetual orgy of horrific violence.
I guess not so much anymore.

Remember back when term limits were all the talk?
Guess they just didn't have the budget.

Only it seems like you don't hear much about ecstasy any more. Isn't the big thing lately some kind of prescription drug, quaaludes or something?
Oh wait, that's right- meth is the worst drug ever right now. Last I heard, anyway.
But I think they've just about got it under control.
Family Values
What are family values? Nobody knows exactly, but every politician worth his or her retirement plan was for it back when it was the issue of the day.
Family values having once been presented as a paramount conflict of opposing views, and the phrase having subsequently lapsed into comparative obscurity, we can only suppose that one side or the other won, perhaps even with some finality. I don't recall hearing about it, though. Maybe it happened during the OJ trial.
